It is with sadness that the family of the artist John Holmes have asked me to report his passing on the 17th. He was 76. Known for his spectacular Surrealist artwork; including the iconic image of Germaine Greer's 'The Female Eunuch' and the paperback rendition of Peter Benchley's 'Jaws' - he has left behind a staggering body of work behind, be it the Ballantine Lovecraft books or the many covers for Mary Danby's 'Fontana Horror.'
